Basketball Game Preview: Socorro Warriors vs. Valley Vikings

The Socorro Warriors will be taking part in a tournament against the Valley Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with ten consecutive losses dating back to last season for Socorro and four for Valley.

Last Saturday, Socorro lost to Mesilla Valley Christian School at home by a 56-41 margin. The Warriors were down 49-29 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 73-22, which was the final score in Valley's tilt against West Mesa back in December of 2024. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Mustangs are ranked 31st).

Socorro's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
