Football Game Preview: Law Lawmen vs. East Haven Yellowjackets + How To Watch

After each having a week off, the Law Lawmen and the East Haven Yellowjackets will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Law had to skate by with only a one-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 21-point drubbing they dealt Branford last Friday. The Lawmen blew past the Hornets 34-13. That 21 point margin sets a new team best for the Lawmen this season.

Matthew Witteman continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 89 yards and two TDs on only 11 carries, while also throwing for 221 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 17 passes. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (152.2). Dylan Gaillard was another key player, gaining 124 total yards.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Law proved: they limited Branford to a paltry three yards per carry. While two picked up at least ten total tackles, Anthony Scappatura stood above the rest. He picked up 2.5 sacks and made ten total tackles (4.0 for loss). Law didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 5.7.

Law's defense didn't let Chris McKittrick, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for five sacks. Branford's QB won't forget Scappatura anytime soon given he sacked him 2.5 times. Scappatura also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with ten.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask East Haven). They strolled past Wilbur Cross with points to spare last Friday, taking the game 20-6.

Law's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for East Haven, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Everything came up roses for Law against East Haven when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 42-6 victory. Do the Lawmen have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Yellowjackets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
