Softball Recap: Willow Spring Storm vs. Corinth Holders Pirates
Willow Spring was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Corinth Holders Pirates, falling 9-3. The Storm were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pirates apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.
Lynlee Ogburn made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Carly Simon, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Willow Spring's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Corinth Holders, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Willow Spring will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Clayton at 7:00 p.m. on April 8. As for Corinth Holders, they will square off against Southeast Raleigh at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
