Horizon has gone 7-2 against El Dorado recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Horizon Scorpions will be playing at home against the El Dorado Aztecs at 6:00 p.m. Horizon has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 13.

Last Tuesday, Horizon was beaten by Del Valle 72-37. While losing is never fun, the Scorpions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1354th, while the Conquistadores are ranked 533rd).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for El Dorado, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Bel Air 56-53.

El Dorado's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-13. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points per game. As for Horizon, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-18.

Horizon was taken down by El Dorado 63-30 in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of El Dorado's Adrian Rodriguez, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc on his way to 20 points.
