The Circle Christian Centurions will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Orlando Christian Prep Warriors at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Circle Christian: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home dating back to last season, while Orlando Christian Prep has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
Last Thursday, Circle Christian didn't have quite enough to beat Lake Mary Prep and fell 6-5. That's two games in a row now that the Centurions have lost by just one run.

Jon Waldrop was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those RBI were his first of the season.
In other batting news, DJ Williams was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Orlando Christian Prep ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Merritt Island Christian 5-3.
The team relied heavily on Brayden Schuster, who scored a run and stole four bases while going 1-for-4. Another player making a difference was Jorge Martinez, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
Circle Christian now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Orlando Christian Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
Tuesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Circle Christian has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .449. However, it's not like Orlando Christian Prep struggles in that department as they've averaged .479. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
