Basketball Recap: Hernando Makes It Six in a Row at Home

Hernando had won five straight home games and Fran Kelly did her part to make it six on Tuesday. The Hernando Tigers were the clear victor by a 79-53 margin over the Oxford Chargers thanks in part to Kelly, who went 12 for 20 on her way to 36 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Hernando's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Keristian Nevels, who posted five points. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played.

Hernando is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.1 points per game. As for Oxford, the loss snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 19-6 record.

Hernando does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Oxford, they will take on Senatobia at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
