Recap: Northside Christian Mustangs vs. Orlando Christian Prep Warriors
The Northside Christian Mustangs lost against the Orlando Christian Prep Warriors back in November of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Northside Christian received a tough blow as they fell 35-16 to Orlando Christian Prep. Northside Christian has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, Northside Christian had strong showings from Gavin Richardson, who picked up 110 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and Blake Van wormer, who threw for 258 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.2 yards per attempt. Richardson was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 62 yards.
Orlando Christian Prep found their leader in underclassman Akeevin Anderson, who picked up 97 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground.
Northside Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Orlando Christian Prep, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northside Christian will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Carrollwood Day at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Carrollwood Day has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 190 points over their last four matchups. Orlando Christian Prep will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Providence School at 7:30 p.m. on November 17th.
