Basketball Recap: Abilene Christian Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Abilene Christian can now relate to. They fell 47-39 to the Live Oak Classical Falcons on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 817th, while the Falcons are ranked 404th).

Live Oak Classical got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Audrey Pahmiyer out in front who posted 17 points and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Pahmiyer has scored at least a third of Live Oak Classical's points. Another player making a difference was Stella Sriram, who had 13 points.

Abilene Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. Live Oak Classical is on a roll lately: they've won 22 of their last 23 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-6 record this season.

As of now, neither Abilene Christian nor Live Oak Classical have any future games scheduled.
