Santa Fe Trail won against Wellsville last Tuesday with 12 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. Everything went the Chargers' way against the Baldwin Bulldogs as they made off with a 12-1 win. The Chargers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.

Gretchen Huizenga made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, Kendall Baird and Peyton Ganger did most of the damage at the plate: Baird went 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI, while Ganger went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Sydnee Sleichter was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Santa Fe Trail was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .385 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Santa Fe Trail is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Baldwin, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Santa Fe Trail beat the Bulldogs by a score of 6-2 later that day.
