Juneau-Douglas is 10-0 against Mt. Edgecumbe since February of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Juneau-Douglas Crimson Bears will host the Mt. Edgecumbe Braves at 7:00 p.m. The timing isn't great for Juneau-Douglas: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Mt. Edgecumbe has snatched up 15 consecutive wins on the road dating back to last season.

Juneau-Douglas saw some tournament action last Saturday. They took a 71-54 bruising from Bettye Davis East Anchorage. While losing is never fun, the Crimson Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alaska basketball rankings (they are ranked 53rd, while the Thunderbirds are ranked first).

Meanwhile, Mt. Edgecumbe got the win against Bethel on Tuesday by a conclusive 79-53. The Braves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 26 points or more this season.

Mt. Edgecumbe is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.4 points per game. As for Juneau-Douglas, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.

Juneau-Douglas strolled past Mt. Edgecumbe in their previous matchup back in February of 2021 by a score of 71-54. Will Juneau-Douglas repeat their success, or does Mt. Edgecumbe have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
