Soccer Game Preview: Jefferson vs. Freeport

Jefferson hasn't had much luck against Freeport recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The J-Hawks will head out to face off against the Pretzels at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with eight defeats in a row, Jefferson turned things around against Belvidere on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Bucs a 2-0 shutout.

Meanwhile, Freeport beat Guilford 3-1 on Tuesday. Freeport's winning goal came courtesy of Natalie Namio.

Jefferson's win bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Freeport, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.

Jefferson was able to grind out a solid win over Freeport in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 4-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the J-Hawks since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
