Softball Recap: Olympic Heights Lions vs. Palm Beach Central Broncos
Olympic Heights came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Palm Beach Central Broncos, falling 27-12. The Lions have struggled against the Broncos recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meetings.
Mya Rey-Anderson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Elsie Throckmorton, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.
Even though they lost, Olympic Heights was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. This was only their first loss (out of five games) when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Olympic Heights' defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Palm Beach Central, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-4.
