Soccer Game Preview: Barstow vs. Silverado

The Barstow Aztecs will be taking part in a tournament against the Silverado Hawks at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Barstow unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-pitch advantage in their season opener. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of University Prep on Tuesday. The matchup was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but Barstow couldn't quite close it out.

Meanwhile, Silverado fell victim to Sultana and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 4-0 to the Sultans.

Barstow skirted past Silverado 2-1 when the teams last played back in February. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Aztecs since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
