Basketball Recap: Goodpasture Christian Skates Past Friendship Christian with Ease

Goodpasture Christian won the last time they faced Friendship Christian and things went their way on Friday too. The Goodpasture Christian Cougars simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Friendship Christian Commanders 72-34. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Commanders are ranked 273rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lazaviona Hawkins continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double on 19 points and nine steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Addi Ruffin, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards.

Goodpasture Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Goodpasture Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Friendship Christian, their defeat was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-12.
