Basketball Game Preview: El Modena Vanguards vs. Pacifica Mariners

The El Modena Vanguards are taking a road trip to take on the Pacifica Mariners at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. El Modena is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.

On Tuesday, El Modena had to suffer through a 67-31 loss at the hands of Sunny Hills. While losing is never fun, the Vanguards can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 945th, while the Lancers are ranked 344th).

Meanwhile, Pacifica entered their game against Brea Olinda on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Pacifica fell 47-40 to Brea Olinda.

Pacifica's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-9. As for El Modena, their loss dropped their record down to 7-16.

El Modena came up short against Pacifica in their previous matchup two weeks ago, falling 42-29. Can El Modena avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
