Mercy proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by three) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Capuchino Mustangs 3-2. The victory continues a trend for the Bears in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won five in a row.

Mercy was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (106-91), but they still managed to win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 26-24, 16-25, 9-25, 15-13.

Mercy's win bumped their record up to 12-15. As for Capuchino, their defeat ended a six-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 22-4.

Coming up, Mercy will welcome Sacred Heart Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Capuchino, they will head out on the road to square off against Mills at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
