Football Recap: De La Salle Comes Up Short

De La Salle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Nazareth Academy Roadrunners and fell 43-0. While losing is never fun, the Meteors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 426th, while the Roadrunners are ranked third).

De La Salle's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Nazareth Academy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Looking ahead, De La Salle will take on Joliet Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Meteors will be up against the Hilltoppers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 27.67 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Nazareth Academy, they will head out to challenge Benet Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
