Basketball Game Preview: Bradford Railroaders vs. Covington Buccs

The Bradford Railroaders and the Covington Buccs will round out the year against one another at at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Bradford has five straight wins, Covington has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Bradford is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They walked away with a 68-58 victory over Calvary Christian on Saturday. The score was all tied up 31-31 at the break, but the Railroaders were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Covington might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Lehman Catholic an easy 50-29 win. While losing is never fun, the Buccs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 631st, while the Cavaliers are ranked 70th).

Bradford pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for Covington, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Bradford strolled past Covington in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a score of 56-40. Will Bradford repeat their success, or does Covington have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
