Softball Recap: Klein Cain Drops Season-High Score on Cypress Park

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Klein Cain). They never let the Cypress Park Tigers get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory on Saturday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Amia Shead made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in strikeouts. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Klein Cain let Trinity Prevost and Bailey Beard run wild. Prevost scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Beard went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave Beard a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jazmine Freeman, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Klein Cain's victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Cypress Park, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Klein Cain didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 12-3 win against Cypress Falls on the 1st. As for Cypress Park, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 17-0 loss against Friendswood on the 1st.
