Basketball Recap: Rancho Bernardo Takes a Loss

Rancho Bernardo lost against Ramona back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Broncos fell 53-48 to the Bulldogs.

Despite the defeat, Rancho Bernardo saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tyler Johnson shot 42% from the field to rack up 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joaquin Padilla, who posted six points.

Rancho Bernardo's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Ramona, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rancho Bernardo will take on Mira Mesa in a tournament on Tuesday. The Broncos will be up against the Marauders' rather soft defense (which has allowed 62.33 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Ramona, they will host Escondido Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
