Basketball Recap: Van Buren Takes a Loss

Van Buren was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Pandora-Gilboa Rockets, falling 59-24. The Black Knights lost against the Rockets in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 47-39 score last time.

Van Buren's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Pandora-Gilboa, they pushed their record up to 11-9 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Van Buren will challenge Liberty Center at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Pandora-Gilboa, they will face off against Kalida at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Kalida will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Pandora-Gilboa surely won't give up without a fight.
