Softball Recap: Oakland Christian Comes Up Short

Oakland Christian extended their losing streak to five on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 1-8 in the process. They lost 19-8 to the Inter-City Baptist Chargers. That's two games in a row now that the Lancers have lost by exactly 11 runs.

As for Inter-City Baptist, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-6. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Inter-City Baptist's part, the team relied heavily on Chloe Smith, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and two triples. Those triples were Smith's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Macy Harrison, who went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI.

Looking ahead, Oakland Christian will square off against Memphis at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Inter-City Baptist, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Southfield Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
