Basketball Recap: Valley Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

After losing to Round Valley the last time they met, Valley decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Valley Pirates snuck past the Round Valley Elks with a 51-47 win on Thursday.

When it comes to explaining why Round Valley lost, don't look at Kade Latham. Despite the final result, he went 10 for 17 en route to 24 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Those 24 points gave Latham a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brennan Brown, who posted eight points and 11 boards.

Valley pushed their record up to 8-10 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.5 points per game. As for Round Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season.

Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, an 86-29 win against Greyhills Academy on the 21st. Round Valley has also already played their next contest, a 56-46 defeat against Safford on the 17th.
