Basketball Recap: Clifton Comes Up Short

Clifton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 35-13 to the Kennedy Knights. The Mustangs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-2.

Kennedy had a senior duo take command as Yalanis Jarrett posted eight points and eight boards and Shay Shay Clancy went 5 for 9 en route to 12 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which Clancy has scored at least a third of Kennedy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Juliana Odum, who earned 12 points.

Clifton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Kennedy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Clifton has already played their next match (against Bergen Tech), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Kennedy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 49-35 win against Passaic County Tech on the 23rd.
