Softball Recap: Monday's Victory Is Murray's Third in Last Four Outings

Murray won the last time they faced East and things went their way on Monday too. The Spartans walked away with a 15-10 victory over the Leopards.

The team relied heavily on Lyndee Marshall, who scored four runs and stole four bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maddie Bigelow, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Murray kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. They are 4-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

Murray is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for East, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Murray will host Park City at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for East, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Highland at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
