Basketball Recap: Wink Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

Wink won the last time they faced Fort Hancock, and Alec Berzoza did his part to make sure it happened again. The Wink Wildcats blew past the Fort Hancock Mustangs, posting a 72-34 win thanks in part to Berzoza, who went 9 for 16 on his way to 21 points and three steals. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2024.

The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Cahill, who posted two points along with six assists and three steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played.

Wink is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Fort Hancock, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-9 record this season.

Coincidentally, Wink and Fort Hancock will both be playing Van Horn the next time they take the court. Fort Hancock will host Van Horn at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Wink will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th.
