Volleyball Recap: Archbishop Williams Comes Up Short

Archbishop Williams was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Cardinal Spellman Cardinals. If the Bishops were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Cardinals when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 24-26, 25-15, 25-23.

Avery Valicenti paced Archbishop Williams' offense, picking up ten kills. Valicenti got some help from Kate O'Toole and her 24 assists. Mia Toscano and Mia Cartullo kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with three aces apiece.

Among those leading the charge was Lily Carey, who had 12 digs and two aces. She has been hot, having posted two or more aces the last six times she's played.

Archbishop Williams' defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Cardinal Spellman, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-6.
