Basketball Game Preview: Walker Wildcats vs. Edna Karr Cougars

Walker is on a 33-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Edna Karr is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Wildcats face off against the Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Friday, Walker was able to grind out a solid win over St. Amant, taking the game 77-64. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Gators recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Edna Karr beat Frederick A. Douglass 60-47 on Friday. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the Bobcats are ranked 115th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Edna Karr found their leader in sophomore Cass Antoine, who posted 31 points. Antoine's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. Sanaa Bean was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Walker's win bumped their record up to 29-1. As for Edna Karr, their victory bumped their record up to 25-4.
