Volleyball Recap: Vista Grande Takes a Loss

If Vista Grande was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Cholla last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Spartans fell just short of the Casa Grande Cougars by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Vista Grande actually scored more points across those five sets (102-97), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 25-17, 26-24, 16-25, 15-25, 15-11.

Casa Grande can attribute much of their success to Addisen Owens, who had 16 digs and five assists. Those five assists gave Owens a new career-high.

Vista Grande's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Casa Grande, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8.

Vista Grande wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Catalina Foothills on the 18th. As for Casa Grande, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Canyon del Oro on the 18th.
