Volleyball Recap: South Iron Takes a Loss

South Iron was the 3-0 winner over St. Paul Lutheran when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Panthers fell 3-1 to the Giants on Tuesday. While the Panthers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Giants 25-20 in the first set.

South Iron started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-17, 25-13, 25-22.

Alee Martin paced South Iron's offense, picking up six kills. Martin got some help from Alayna Darian and her 14 assists. Ellie Parker controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

South Iron's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, South Iron will face off against Fredericktown at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. Paul Lutheran, they will challenge Oak Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th.
