Basketball Recap: The Academy - San Francisco Takes a Loss

The Academy - San Francisco was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Washington Eagles, falling 76-10. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 83-12 back in January.

It was another big night for Korey Abantao, who posted 11 points and five steals for Washington. What's more, Abantao also posted a 75% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Will Peterson, who went 6 of 13 en route to 16 points.

The Academy - San Francisco's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Washington, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season.

Looking ahead, The Academy - San Francisco will venture away from home to square off against Mission at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Washington, they will welcome Galileo at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Washington has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last five games.
