Baseball Recap: William Allen Comes Up Short

If William Allen was feeling good fresh off their 14-5 takedown of Executive Education Academy Charter School on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Canaries lost 13-3 to the Allentown Central Catholic Vikings on Monday. The Canaries were not able to make up for their loss to the Vikings from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Erick Lopez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Daniel Rivas, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

William Allen's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Allentown Central Catholic, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 9-5 record.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. William Allen is set to face off against their familiar foe Parkland at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Allentown Central Catholic will challenge rival Emmaus at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Vikings 3.5, the Hornets 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
