Softball Recap: Carrboro Jaguars vs. Dixon Bulldogs
Carrboro and Dixon squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Carrboro had to settle for second. They lost 8-0 to the Bulldogs. The Jaguars were not able to make up for their loss to the Bulldogs from their previous meeting back in May of 2017.

Teagan Fichter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and four unearned) runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Carrboro saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Vivian Martin, who went 1-for-3 with one double.
Carrboro has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-7 record this season. As for Dixon, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-13.
Carrboro does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Dixon, they will take on South Central on Friday. The Falcons will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight.
