Softball Recap: John F. Kennedy Catholic Beats Harding for Their Third Straight Victory

John F. Kennedy Catholic took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against Harding, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Eagles had just enough and edged out the Raiders 13-12. The win was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on three straight.

Kylee Marlatt made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and seven unearned) runs off ten hits. Those 13 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

In other batting news, Samiya Currie was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Danielle Wickham was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

John F. Kennedy Catholic's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-10. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.7 runs over those games. As for Harding, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-12.

John F. Kennedy Catholic and Harding are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Eagles will face off against St. John at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Harding, they will be playing at home against Howland at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
