St. Xavier (Louisville, Ky.) vs. Trinity (Louisville, Ky.)
Friday, 8 p.m. Eastern

Why it's big: A crowd of over 30,000 at Papa John's Stadium is the norm for this annual regular-season renewal of Kentucky's top rivalry.

St. Xavier snapped a seven-game losing streak to Trinity when the teams met last October, but Trinity avenged the loss when it mattered most in the Class 6A state quarterfinals. The Shamrocks bettered their lead in the all-time series to 39-37-2.

Names to watch: Desmond Ridder is the unquestioned leader on offense for St. Xavier (4-1). The junior dual-threat quarterback has 608 yards passing, 488 yards rushing and 10 total touchdowns this season.

After a lopsided loss to nationally ranked Male on Sept. 11, Trinity (5-1) has outscored its last two opponents by a combined score of 95-0. The Shamrocks have had big performances on both sides of the ball all season long from senior receiver/defensive back Rodjay Burns. The three-star prospect is committed to Louisville.
