Softball Recap: Ottawa Cyclones vs. De Soto Wildcats

After flying high against Baldwin last Monday, Ottawa came back down to earth. The Ottawa Cyclones fell just short of the De Soto Wildcats by a score of 4-2 on Thursday. Ottawa was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as De Soto apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

Addison White was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she pitched six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. White has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in five consecutive pitching appearances. White was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with a triple and a run.

White wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kamden Evans, who went 1-for-2 with an RBI.

Ottawa has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for De Soto, the win got them back to even at 3-3-1.
