Basketball Recap: Colonial Christian Victorious

If Mooresville Christian wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Colonial Christian, they should've done a better job of containing Stinna Grubb. The Colonial Christian Cougars came out on top against the Mooresville Christian Eagles by a score of 29-22 on Friday thanks in part to Grubb, who went 7 of 16 on her way to 16 points in addition to six steals and five assists. Colonial Christian is 5-2 when Grubb posts five or more steals, but 1-2 otherwise.

The team also got some help courtesy of Melody Moore, who posted three points. Those three points gave her a new career-high.

Mooresville Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Addey Hayden, who earned two points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Bailey Hayden was another key player, putting up four points and eight boards.

Colonial Christian's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Mooresville Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.

Colonial Christian has already played their next game (against Indiana Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Mooresville Christian will head out on the road to take on Cascade at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Cascade is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.9 points per game this season.
