Softball Recap: Tinley Park's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Tinley Park dropped their record down to 18-12 on Monday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins on the road. They fell just short of the Lemont Lemont HS by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lemont HS this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-2 back in April.

Tinley Park saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Megan Piotrowski, who went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

As for Lemont, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games.

On Lemont's side, the team relied heavily on Ella Phelan, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave Phelan a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of McKenzie Purgatorio, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI.

While Tinley Park had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
