Sam Rayburn dropped their record down to 14-8-1 on Friday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 13-3 to the Tom Bean Tomcats. On Tom Bean's side, Donnie Hooten was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, Hooten posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Tom Bean: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-7 otherwise.

In other batting news, Hagen Darney was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs. Ryan DeArmond was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
