Basketball Recap: Western Harnett Eagles vs. Overhills Jaguars
Western Harnett lost against Overhills back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Eagles were outmatched by the Jaguars and fell 66-33.

Despite the defeat, Western Harnett saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tamara Hayes shot 44% from the field en route to 17 points. Hayes' big performance that evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 17 points. Overhills got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Paris Autry out in front who went 10-for-14 to rack up 22 points. Autry has been hot, having posted 15 or more points the last seven times she's played. Anaiah McGee was another key player, shooting 70% from the field on her way to 19 points and five steals.
Western Harnett's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Overhills, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Western Harnett wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 53-11 win against Red Springs on the 24th. As for Overhills, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 71-51 victory against NC GBB Academy on the 22nd.
