Softball Recap: Orange Takes a Loss

After flying high against Williams last Friday, Orange came back down to earth. The Orange Panthers came up short against the Cedar Ridge Fighting Red Wolves on Tuesday, falling 7-1. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Fighting Red Wolves apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Allie Carden made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run.

Orange's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-3. As for Cedar Ridge, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Orange will venture away from home to square off against Person at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cedar Ridge, they will head out to challenge Roxboro Community at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Cedar Ridge is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10 runs per game this season.
