Preview: Lakeview Bulldogs vs. Columbiana Clippers

The Lakeview Bulldogs will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Columbiana Clippers at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Lakeview focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday.

While Lakeview couldn't quite beat Hubbard on Tuesday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 21-point loss they were dealt on Friday. Lakeview fell just short of Hubbard by a score of 54-51. Lakeview has struggled against Hubbard recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Kyle Senkowitz put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 19 points along with five rebounds. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Newton, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals.

Lakeview struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Hubbard pulled down 14 offensive rebounds.

Meanwhile, Columbiana can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They breezed by Leetonia on the road to the tune of 69-20. The win was nothing new for Columbiana as they're now sitting on five straight.

Columbiana got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Maddox Brown out in front who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. Brown is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Ian Less was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with three steals.

Lakeview has not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season. As for Columbiana, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-4.

Friday's matchup is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Lakeview have been dynamite from deep this season, having made 38.9% of their threes per game. However, it's not like Columbiana struggles in that department as they've made 43.3% of their threes this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out. Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other basketball content.
