Gavin Walker made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was even better at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Nate Hagner was a standout: he scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-2. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Matt Leary, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1.
Meanwhile, Upper Perkiomen has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging four runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Monday. They lost 11-1 to Fleetwood. The loss was the Indians' first of the season.
Upper Perkiomen also got a good showing from Andrew Nagata, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
On the hitting side, Upper Perkiomen saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Creneti, who scored a run while going 1-for-1. Stephen Mumford also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
