Softball Recap: Princeton Comes Up Short

Princeton fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against McKinney on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the McKinney Lions by a score of 11-9. Even though they lost, the Panthers' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.1 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Daeshana Wilson led a balanced group of hitters, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted over her last seven contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddie Anguiano, who went 3-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.

Princeton has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9-1 record this season. McKinney's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-14-1.

Coming up, Princeton will square off against Allen at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Princeton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season. As for McKinney, they will challenge Plano West at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
