Softball Recap: Davis Pirates vs. Wenatchee Panthers

Davis had lost nine straight at home dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 1-15 to make it ten. They came up short against the Wenatchee Panthers, falling 16-2. Having soared to a lofty 18 runs in the game before, the Pirates couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Wenatchee, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-8. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won six matches by six runs or more so far this season.

For Wenatchee's part, Adamarie Iniguez made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Iniguez was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Sierra Cook was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Rhayn Smith also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Wenatchee beat Davis by a score of 23-2 later that day.
