Football Recap: Marlette Takes a Loss

Marlette played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 36-14 to the Sandusky Wolves. The Red Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolves apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Sandusky's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jack Betts, who rushed for 79 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 153 yards and a pair of TDs. Gavin Phillips was in the mix too, providing the Wolves with two scores.

Marlette's defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Sandusky, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.

Marlette has already played their next match, a 44-6 loss against Unionville-Sebewaing on the 12th. As for Sandusky, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 55-20 defeat against Millington on the 12th.
