Preview: Scarborough Spartans vs. Wheatley Wildcats
Scarborough is 0-10 against Wheatley since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Scarborough Spartans will be home for the holidays to greet the Wheatley Wildcats at 6:00 p.m.
Last Saturday, Scarborough took a serious blow against Kashmere, falling 40-11. Scarborough has not had much luck with Kashmere recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Meanwhile, Wheatley didn't have too much trouble with Worthing at home on Friday as they won 46-31. The win was just what Wheatley needed coming off of a 71-20 loss in their prior match.
Wheatley had a senior duo take command as Autumn Breedlove scored 20 points along with five steals and Jahannah Roberson scored ten points along with six steals. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for her.
Scarborough's defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-5. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 9.1 points per game. As for Wheatley, their win bumped their record up to 4-8.
Scarborough was taken down by Wheatley 80-16 in their previous matchup back in January. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Scarborough was down 44-10.
