Baseball Game Preview: Lynn Bears vs. Hubbertville Lions

The Lynn Bears will take on the Hubbertville Lions on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Lynn is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They never let Covenant Christian get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. Ten seems to be a good number for the Bears as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Meanwhile, Hubbertville made easy work of Coosa Christian on Saturday and carried off a 9-2 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

Cruz Kizzire was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Kizzire was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Hubbertville let Cole Brand and Tucker Bowen run wild. Brand went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Bowen went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Blaize Wakefield, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Lynn's record is now 20-10. As for Hubbertville, their record now sits at 18-8.

Lynn couldn't quite get it done against Hubbertville in their previous matchup back in March as they fell 6-1. Can the Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
