Greenway has gone a perfect 10-0 against Shadow Mountain recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. Greenway will host Shadow Mountain at 7:00 p.m. Greenway knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Shadow Mountain likes a good challenge.
On Friday, Greenway got the win against Bradshaw Mountain by a conclusive 14-3. Considering the Demons have won six games by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Madison Bailey made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. What's more, she gave up only zero walks, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, Greenway let Bella Morris and Kaitlyn Bennett run wild. Morris went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Bennett scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. That's the most RBI Morris has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was TAYLOR BORUP, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.
Greenway was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .316 or higher in six consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Shadow Mountain entered their match against Paradise Honors on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Shadow Mountain lost 17-1 to Paradise Honors. The Matadors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Greenway pushed their record up to 7-6-1 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Shadow Mountain, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.
Monday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Greenway has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .465. However, it's not like Shadow Mountain struggles in that department as they've averaged .599. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Greenway took their victory against Shadow Mountain in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0. Does Greenway have another victory up their sleeve, or will Shadow Mountain turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
