Baseball Game Preview: Sandusky Wolves vs. Ubly Bearcats

The Sandusky Wolves will head out on the road to challenge the Ubly Bearcats at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sandusky is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.

On Monday, Sandusky was able to grind out a solid victory over Bad Axe, taking the game 5-2.

Jack Betts made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Nathan Ball was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits he has posted over his last 12 contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Tovar, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Sandusky was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bad Axe only posted a batting average of .261.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Ubly challenged Caro on Monday. The Bearcats fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 5-4. The game snapped a strange streak: the last five times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Ubly's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Sandusky, their record is now 11-5.
